It is a series of three short clips.  In this short video Sushi Suzuki, associate professor at the Kyoto Institute of Technology, gives a general introduction to the academic course. The paper bike, this year called egg hurl challenge, is an educational tool to introduce students to the course. The task is constructed following design thinking principles, prototyping, and interdisciplinary teamwork. It is an annual warm-up design exercise for students at the beginning of the course. This year, the aim was to introduce the global aspect earlier and make it more sustainable. We created globally mixed teams that led the international students to communicate and work together much earlier than starting at the GKO, as well as based on Leonardo Da Vinci anniversary we had many creative ways of hurling eggs across the grass field. We produced less paper garbage compared to previous years. It is a working progress. Student teams were tasked to create an egg hurl, primarily made of paper, to participate in the egghurl challenge: hurling the furthest without breaking the egg and aiming most preciously for a target only a few meters away without breaking the egg.
