The Challenge
"Enhance BMW Group to make machine errors more visible and bring planning processes to a data-driven working model."
In the context of Industry 4.0 and a more connected working model with IoT, BMW Group challenged us with the following problem. Although BMW is already much advanced and enjoys a strong reputation as a leading car manufacturer, there is still room for innovation. Particularly within remote machine monitoring, some processes remain highly manual and lead to inefficiencies and high costs.
The Journey
Solving wicked problems with the right tools.
In the last nine months, we faced up to this challenge using the human-centred Design Thinking methodology. We developed more than 35 prototypes, failed, learned and began all over again.
