 Graphic Design

I am a Brazilian graphic designer passionate about the empathetic dimension of Design Thinking. Our work on this project was based on what we have learned from the people concerned by Psoriasis, and through these exchanges we have developed a deep empathy for them. For me, this is one of the great values of design thinking: we see the world through the eyes of others and it is impossible to remain indifferent to their needs when we comprehend their life stories.

Business Administration

I am a 22-year old Economics student at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, passionate with the social approach and understanding the user and the needs of every person. I applied for SUGAR because I wanted to integrate my academic background with hands-on experience on a relevant real-life problem. I was thrilled to join the challenge launched by UCB, as the pharmaceutical sector is one in which companies can really make a huge impact on their users’ quality of life. I am looking forward to working on tangible solutions to improve the patients’ experience with the treatment.

Physics

I am 23 years old and I am attending MS in Experimental Physics at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. I applied for the SUGAR project since, due to my scientific background, I’m very curious and Design Thinking inspired me; moreover, I love trying myself and my skills on the most diverse challenges and problems, always learning something new. I trust in a human-centered, personalized approach and I’m happy to work in the pharmaceutical field because we have the possibility to find solutions that can be truly useful and improve patients’ quality of life. As the subatomic particles, that are always colliding, I truly believe that the collisions between different people can shape a better future.

 Management Engineering

I am attending the last year of Management Engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. I decided to join the SUGAR network since,in my opinion, design thinking is not just a method but a real life style that can change the perception of problem-solving. My professional goal is to

become a designer and manage projects in different fields through the design of innovative products and services, and this seemed the perfect start for this path.

 Mechanical Engineering &   Industrial Design

I graduated in 2018 as a mechanical engineer and industrial designer, and I worked for 2 year as a technical consultant in the aeronautic sector before joining the ME310 program in September 2020. Since my young age, I always wanted to combine technical and creative skills through design projects, and I recently realized that focusing on people – also called users - is the key to success. Finding solutions for the people we meet this year is what motivated me to join this program in the first place, and what still drives me most to surpass myself in every step of this project.
